Website under construction. Awesome.
Found this in St. Jacobs near Tonya's house. The cycle is complete. The internet comes back to haunt reality.
Quid no quo
This old scale was in the Home Hardware museum in St. Jacobs. You can see an old Home Hardware uniform on a mannequin in the background. They had a number of really great museums in the old mill: Home Hardware, one about electricity, and a great model train museum.
See old stuff isn't always bad. As much as I hope Obama wins the US election, I'm not sure how I feel about the discussion about the likeliness that McCain may die during his presidency and that we shouldn't vote for him because if he does pass away, then Palin will be in charge. Aren't we discriminating against McCain and Palin on the basis of McCain's health? On a side note: the media needs to come up with a new phase to replace "heart beat away".
Here's what my neighbourhood looked like on Thanksgiving weekend. Some really nice colours. (For Colin). You can also see how much Sudburians like their trucks.
Tonya my parents and I went up to Onaping Falls on Thanksgiving weekend to see the colours. Such a beautiful place.
Nuit Blanche exhibit: The smoke coming from these crates was illuminated on and off by a throbbing light source. One of the more interesting exhibits.
Another great nuit blanche exhibit. The writing seems to be nonsense...but it's written on a giant wall of barrels...so that's cool.
During Nuit Blanche someone poured detergent into this fountain. Neat effect. People should do this more often.
We found this bee...actually maybe a wasp? at Onaping Falls near Sudbury. Photo Credit: Tonya Martin.
I went home to Sudbury for the thanksgiving weekend. The fall colours were spectacular. Leaf collection/arrangement/display credit: Tonya Martin.
The gardens were open to the public during Nuit Blanche. They had these two big screens showing what looked to me like magic mud being vibrated by sound waves from speakers. One screen was a male voice and the other screen was a female voice. They took turns talking about how people should live their lives.
This giant blue air filled thing was hung in the Eaton Centre for Nuit Blanche. I was trying to figure out what it might be...
It was actually spinning as you can see from this picture...
St. James Cathedral. The oldest church in Toronto was open during Nuit Blanche...at King and Church. Come to think of it...this is probably the Church in Church Street...
I wonder if more people will turn to religion in tough financial times...
This is the Jackson Triggs wine cellar. You can buy the used barrels for $100-200. I think two of them and a glass top would make a great dinning table.
We saw this thing sitting out by the side of the road near the Inniskilling winery and wondered what it could be...
Seeing the front still doesn't help...
It's a homemade port-a-potty!
Wow.
These crystals on the cork are a sign of a really good quality wine. Especially if you get them in a white as these were. Tonya bought one...
I wonder which parties were popping corks last night after the debates...
Tonya and I biked around and visited some of the Niagara-on-the-Lake wineries last weekend. Wine tastes so much better once you learn how to do that reverse whistle thing.
The credit crisis only seems to be getting worse and worse. Tonya found this radio program that explains how this got so bad:

She also found this movie about how banks make (not as in earn but as in create out of thin air) money (watch all five parts - takes about 45 min but worth it).Makes me want to take my money out of the bank and put it under my mattress.
I need to buy a mattress.
I like how Mackenzie King, her highness and Johnny A actually look like they are frowning...
