On our tour of the BC Legislature, we learned that these curves had to be introduced to accommodate the increasing numbers of MPPs. I wonder if they were careful to maintain a 2-sword length distance between the government and opposition benches as is tradition.

I believe they are called "MLAs" not "MPPs"...and the weapon of choice is a chainsaw...best defense against the saw: the hug.
